Biometric for Infants
Lab in development — full brief coming soon.
Conventional fingerprint and iris capture is unreliable on infants and young children: features change rapidly through the first years of life, and standard sensors aren’t designed for very small hands or for cooperation-free environments. The gap matters because birth-time identity is the foundation of everything that follows — civil registration, vaccination, social protection, schooling.
This Lab will explore:
- Capture techniques adapted to newborns and toddlers (footprint, palmprint, multimodal).
- Ageing models that allow re-verification across the first decade of life.
- Field-grade workflows that work in maternity wards, mobile clinics and remote enrollment kits.
If you are working on infant biometrics — research, technology or field deployment — we would like to hear from you.
