Local capacity building is the missing link in open source DPI sustainability
Open source can't deliver its full value if local capacity building does not happen.. 💡
The long terms success of ID DPI comes from 100% #ownership and #control of it, notably after development partners funding on ID ends and move forward to build on top.
Fayda – Ethiopian National ID have been a pioneer in this domain, they have priceless lessons to share after 7 years building NIDP reaching now 40.000.000 people registration 🚀
I took opportunity to be in Ethiopia to prepare with Henock TILAHUN Ali and Rahel Abraham Yitbarek the ID4Africa Symposium track 6 in which they will be key contributors.
Our session will go through countries own capacity building, then discussing on support from technical and funding partners of governments, to culminate with African countries calls for actions 📢
We will have the best panelists involved and will for sure deliver an insightful session on local ownership of technologies for preparing the post funding eras.✨
